Introduction
Manufacture of solid dosage forms implies mix of the active ingredient with excipients, in order to have content uniformity so that, during the subsequent dosage (compression, filling of capsules and pouches, etc...) the dose units with the proper contents are obtained.
The conventional mixing systems use fixed rotation mixers that must be discharged to containers where they are stored until the feeding moment. Instead, the intermediate bulk container (IBC) technology is composed by a fixed blending station, with container units or mobile bins.
Therefore, after filling a container unit with the product, it will be used for three functions:
a) Blending
b) Storage
c) Feeding
Bin Blenders are an integral module in the solid material handling process. They are known for their ability to achieve high blend uniformity in a short period of time. The Bin Blender is designed to receive, lock, lift and blend an IBC.
The same container that is used throughout the entire manufacturing process also serves as the blending unit. One of the inherent advantages of using an Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) is that it permits the homogeneous blending of multiple ingredients without the need to transfer the material to and from another machine. This eliminates cross contamination, costly product change-over times and blender cleaning and preparation. Our line of Bin Blenders permits the easy loading of the IBC without a forklift. After blending, the IBC can be lifted and positioned above a process for discharging via the use of one of our post lifts.
Working process
This equipment is mainly composed of frame, rotate cage; drive system, lifting system, braking system and control system.
Before start of blending process, operator loads the bin into the rotate cage, then presses “Confirm” key on touch panel, the bin will be automatically raised to set position and clamped.
On receipt of bin-clamped signal by sensor, the drive system starts blending as programmed according to setting of time and speed.
On finish of blending process, brake system works automatically, to stop the rotate cage until it comes to a horizontal position.
Then, the lifting system works to land the bin to the ground and on reaching that position, the whole system stops automatically.
Finally, process data of the batch is printed out. Operator moves out the bin from the rotate cage and transfers it to next process.

Feature
